Priva
Climate control systems
At the intersection of design, research, and strategic development, I designed advanced climate control systems that enhance comfort, sustainability, and energy efficiency for modern buildings. From concept to completion, my work revolves around the seamless integration of technology, user needs, and environmental responsibility.
What did I do
Priva is an organization dedicated to developing climate systems that enhance sustainability. They design both hardware and software solutions for building and horticultural climate management, focusing on building automation, energy management, and personal comfort.
During my time at Priva, I contributed to a variety of projects and cross-functional teams. My work involved developing new features for existing applications, conducting research initiatives, and organizing workshops. By applying design thinking, I uncovered valuable insights and created strategies for developing innovative products. These efforts led to the creation of new concepts and prototypes that aligned with Priva's mission for sustainable solutions.

01
Product design
I contributed to the Priva Building Operator app, a solution designed to manage and optimize building climates. The app provides users with insights, support, and full control over essential building processes and management systems. It enables monitoring and visualization of indoor climate, lighting, and energy consumption from any smartphone, tablet, or computer.
Key features I developed include a notification center, a hardware overview and control interface, and the dashboard, enhancing user interaction and system efficiency.
02
Research
At Priva, I conducted various types of research to support innovation and product development. Within the product development team, I performed usability testing and exploratory interviews to gain deeper insights into our current users.
Additionally, I facilitated workshops and creative sessions with users to co-create solutions and gather valuable feedback. I also carried out strategic research to shape and refine new propositions, ensuring they align seamlessly with the needs of future users.

03
Service design
To gain a deeper understanding of the current user groups and the various scenarios in which the product would be used, I translated insights from research and workshops into detailed customer journeys and scenarios in relation to Priva products. These insights were instrumental in informing stakeholders and served as the foundation for the development of new concepts and features.
04
New propositions
Based on key market trends, such as a growing need for online collaboration, faster project turnaround times, and an increasing number of less formally trained professionals, I developed a new product that empowers climate engineers to design building climate systems quickly and easily. The tool is designed to adapt to varying levels of information available at the start of a project and accommodate fluctuating timelines, ensuring flexibility and efficiency throughout the process.

05
Design system & branding
In addition to developing various Priva products, I played an active role in the evolution of the Priva design system. This involved creating new components and collaborating on the foundation of a future branding strategy for Priva’s product portfolio.
